The Azores will always be home for me. It’s the place where I was born and the islands will always be a part of who I am.
The prairies were home for a while. I loved the land-locked beauty and the big sky in Alberta…
…but the sea beckoned and eventually, I moved to the west coast.
Now, Vancouver is home. There is so much here – libraries and bookshops, galleries and restaurants, and of course, great coffee.
When I need to escape the city, the wilderness is not too far away.

Most of my stories have to do with Portugal in one way or another. I write about my childhood – both in São Miguel and in Canada – and about the inner conflicts I faced as a Portuguese teenager living a Canadian life. I write primarily creative nonfiction – about family and relationships, loss and grief. On sunny days, I also write about food and travel!
